We post all our stories on this blog. The blog also contains lots of advertising on the edges--which we can continue to sell. We might have to look at how we market the space, but in the end it will be a better bargain for our advertisers. The ads will be up all the time, and they will have links to their web sites.
There is an area for comments on each posting--which means there can be a dialog started every time something is posted. The actual postings will be controlled by us. I would suggest somebody be an editor, and that all the postings (stories) be routed through that editor and posted.
I need to work through how our members would "subscribe" to this, but in the worst case they would have to become "followers." Every time a new "story" is posted, they'll get an email. That means this goes on all the time--not just quarterly. We can constantly add stuff to it. We should probably shoot for some sort of schedule, like once a week.
There is a search function, so if someone wants to search "inboard" for posts it will go through the archives and find the post (and the comments). I like that--archiving through a web site is probably a complicated procedure.
The only issue might be keeping this among ourselves. I need to figure out how to make it such that only those who are subscribed to it can get access to it. There might not be a way. In that case, we might need to go with a paid blog, like something from godaddy.com, which would also probably give us some other functionality.
